DOG walkers and outdoor enthusiasts in Helensburgh and Lomond are being urged to look out for blooms of potentially hazardous blue-green algae on the area’s lochs and rivers during the current warm weather.
Where blue-green algal blooms are seen, water-based activities should be avoided and pets should not be allowed to drink or enter the water.
Algal blooms can be reported to Argyll and Bute Council’s environmental health team on 01546 605519 or via email at envhealth@argyll-bute.gov.uk or notify SEPA.
More information can be found on the council's website here.
