A MAN has been arrested and charged after police in Helensburgh were alerted to a report of a car being vandalised.
A member of the public called police at 11pm on July 15 to report seeing three males damaging a vehicle in Rhu Road Higher with a plant pot.
Officers attended the scene and quickly found the damaged vehicle, and also discovered that unknown persons had entered nearby Strathclyde Court.
A man fitting a description passed to police was traced nearby and arrested for allegedly damaging the vehicle, and also for reportedly stealing an item from within the building.
The man, a 20-year-old from Alexandria, was taken to Clydebank police office and charged with vandalism and theft by opening a lockfast place. A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
