THE monthly tea, coffee and homemade cake stall at Geilston Garden in Cardross is back this Sunday, August 1.

The stall is run, and supplied, by the Friends of Geilston, the independent charity set up in 2017 to lobby the garden’s owners, the National Trust for Scotland (NTS), to ensure a secure long-term future for the popular attraction.

And though the board of the NTS recently agreed to keep Geilston open and under the Trust’s ownership – ending four years of uncertainty over the attraction’s future – the Friends’ work supporting the NTS in the garden’s operation goes on.

As an extra attraction, those who go along to the garden this Sunday – where teas, coffees, and cakes will be available to buy, in support of the Friends’ work, between 11am and 3pm – will also be serenaded by the members of Helensburgh a capella singing group Tartan Harmony at 1.30pm.

Set up in 2009, the award-winning choir performed regularly across Argyll, West Dunbartonshire and Glasgow until the pandemic struck 16 months ago.

The choir was the first Scottish chorus to be made members of the Ladies’ Association of British Barbership Singers.

Normal opening hours and normal admission prices apply at the garden on Sunday.
