ART enthusiasts in Helensburgh will be able to enjoy the work of a Scottish landscape and seascape specialist when her exhibition comes to town next month.

‘Westering’, by Gill Knight, will be previewed at the Mackintosh Club on Thursday, September 9 from 4-8pm.

Having grown up in various places across south, east, west and central Scotland, Gill’s work – much of it inspired by the ever-changing Scottish weather – evokes a sense of memory and atmosphere of the landscape and environment of her home country.

Scottish weather is a constant theme with its never-ending surprises and it fuels a lot of Gill’s inspiration.

The Sinclair Street public gallery, which also acts as an events space, has been closed for most of 2021 but the venue’s summer schedule is fast filling up following its re-opening.

Harpist Pippa Reid-Foster is set to perform “an afternoon of minimalist harp music” on Sunday, August 29, with tickets already on sale, priced at £13.

Tickets for the concert are available at eventbrite.co.uk.

Scottish soprano Freya Holliman also checked in to the venue recently, and full information on upcoming events is available on the Mackintosh Club’s website or Facebook page.
