MORE details have been revealed of the musical acts who will entertain shoppers in the centre of Helensburgh at a special event next weekend.

The ‘Summer in the Square’ event, being put together by Helensburgh Community Council (HCC), will run alongside the regular food and craft market in Colquhoun Square between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, August 28.

In addition to the market on the north side of the square as usual, additional entertainment in the form of musical interludes and rides and activities for younger family members will fill the south side of the square, with plenty for all to see and do.

There will be ‘chairoplane’ rides and a climbing wall for children, organised by the Helensburgh and Lomond Chamber of Commerce, while community-based online radio station River Radio will be joining in, broadcasting online throughout the day.

A spokesperson for the event said: “All the community volunteers involved in putting this event together in support of the town are looking forward to an enjoyable and lively day in the town square.
