DETAILS have been unveiled of the timetable for the ‘Summer in the Square’ event taking place in the centre of Helensburgh this Saturday.

Alongside food and craft stalls, street food and rides for children between 10am and 4pm on August 28, eight different musical acts will perform in Colquhoun Square between 11am and 3pm.

The Scottish Dance Band will kick off the programme at 11am, followed by singers from the Matinee at the Musicals group at 11.30am, members of the EQ Dance group at 12 noon and Tartan Harmony at 12.30pm.

At 1pm it’s the turn of the Helensburgh Dorian Choir, and at 1.30pm the instrumental talents of the HMS Neptune Volunteer Band will take to the stage.

They’ll be followed at 2.05pm by the LCI Dancers, and at 2.35pm by the Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band and talented teenage piper Mark Morrison, before a finale – the details of which are being kept firmly under wraps – at 3.10pm.

Each act will perform for around 20 minutes, to allow time for a changeover between artists.

The whole day is being put together jointly by Helensburgh Community Council, the Helensburgh and Lomond Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Helensburgh Garelochside, and the market organisers, Stall Hire Scotland.
