A MAN is to stand trial charged with inserting a sex toy into a dog.
Rory Knox, 38, is accused of causing the animal "unnecessary suffering" on April 18, 2021.
The alleged offence is said to have taken place at a property of Milton of Campsie, East Dunbartonshire.
Prosecutors claim the sex toy ended up lodged inside the dog injuring the animal.
Knox, who was described in court papers as a resident of Scott Court in Helensburgh, but who the Advertiser understands is no longer living at that address, made no plea during at a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
A trial, however, was set for February 2022.
A further hearing will take place before then in January next year.
Knox remains on bail.
