THREE Helensburgh and Lomond hospitality businesses are in the running for top prizes at a prestigious industry awards ceremony.

La Barca Spanish tapas and wine bar on West Clyde Street is in the running to win the title of Best Mediterranean Establishment at the seventh annual Food Awards Scotland.

Colquhoun’s Restaurant, at the Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel in Luss, is also battling it out to win the Best Scottish Cuisine category.

And the Cardross Inn is in the running – with local rivalry in the shape of the Balloch House Hotel at the south end of Loch Lomond – for the Gastro Pub of the Year accolade for the south-west Scotland region.

The three businesses reached the final stage in their respective categories following a public vote.

Organised by Creative Oceanic, the awards celebrate the best of Scottish hospitality, from restaurants and bars to staff and suppliers.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie gala at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow on Monday, November 29 following a gala dinner showcasing the finest of Scotland’s produce.

Meanwhile Annaya's Indian in West Princes Street has once again been nominated at the Scottish Curry Awards 2021, which were cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

The restaurant is up for awards in three categories: chef of the year, curry champion of the year, and customer service of the year.
