HELENSBURGH’S annual Christmas tree festival will not take place this year, the organisers have announced.

The charity event at the United Reformed Church has been a popular feature of the town’s festive season for many years, but was cancelled last year because of Covid restrictions.

Announcing the news, the church’s minister, Rev Mitchell Bunting, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those of you who have attended in the past and contributed to the funds we have raised for good causes.”

The church will, however, hold its annual Christmas gift service to help local children in need at 2pm on Sunday, December 12, and carols will be sung outside the church’s main door at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve.

All are welcome to attend both events.
