Enthusiastic local artists from the Helensburgh Art Club were finally able to showcase their work in a one day event in the town.
The group had been halted from showing off their pieces to the public since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic due to ongoing restrictions, but were now over the moon to host their first event for almost two years.
Residents in Helensburgh and Lomond were able to purchase original pieces of work from local artists on Saturday at a day-long sale at the town’s Victoria Halls.
Margaret Cameron, organiser, told the Advertiser: “We have had to cancel our annual shows. This is our first time hosting our one day sale event and it went extremely well.
“It was very well patronised and we sold a lot of paintings.
“There were lots of original art and craft works by our members who have been creating imaginatively throughout the pandemic.
“There were lots of things on in the town such as the Christmas lights switch-on, which was a good thing for us because we saw more faces than expected.”
The Bachelor family also offered a prize for the best picture in a seascape, which was awarded to artist Karen Livingstone and presented by James Auld from the judging panel.
The club also set its members '15 Minute Facebook Challenge', which was won by Anita Mclaren and Mary Jane Selwood.
