THE organisers of the Helensburgh Winter Festival have thanked everyone involved in ensuring that the biggest event in the town’s calendar returned with a bang at the weekend.
After having to fall back on a virtual event in 2020 due to Covid restrictions, the appetite for the real thing was much in evidence wherever you looked on Saturday and Sunday, with food and craft stalls, live music and dance, and plenty of fun and games to keep the thousands of festival-goers busy throughout.
Highlights included the unveiling on Saturday of a huge yarn chain, created my community groups across Helensburgh over recent months and set to form the basis of a Guinness World Record attempt in the new year, and the Helensburgh and District Round Table’s Santa Dash on Sunday.
In a statement posted on the festival’s social media accounts after the dust had settled on Sunday evening, a spokesperson said simply: “There are too many of you to thank individually, but this was a truly magical festival and we couldn’t have done it without you!”
