MEMBERS of the Loch Lomond Waterski Club are planning to don fancy dress for charity on New Year’s Day.

The club’s annual January 1 event has been a popular feature of the area’s festive calendar for many years, with many outlandish outfits featuring on the day – and in the Advertiser afterwards – as members compete to grab the attention of spectators and their cameras.

The event, being supported by Cameron House Hotel, Loch Lomond Seaplanes, the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat and Inchmurrin Island Lodges, will start at 1pm on New Year’s Day at Cameron House Marina, and should be finished by around 2pm.

A club spokesperson said: “Due to the fact that we have lost three former committee members to cancer within the last 18 months, the event this time is being run in aid of Cancer Research UK.”
