TWO budding photographers have snapped up the top prizes of a nature-inspired photography competition run by Loch Lomond Shores.

Gavin MacDonald and Lisa Forrest came out on top after 100 entries were submitted to the annual competition late last year.

Participants were asked to submit a photograph that they had taken at Loch Lomond Shores with a focus on landscape and nature.

Gavin, 40, from Alexandria, won the adult competition.

The manufacturing operative won a £200 voucher for Loch Lomond Leisure to use on water sports and/or paddle sports as well as an annual family season ticket for The Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre.

Lisa Forrest, 14, won the children’s competition with her 'imaginative' shot.

She received two child tickets for Treezone as well as an annual family season ticket for the Bird of Prey Centre.

Entries were judged by Paul Saunders Photography and representatives from Loch Lomond Shores and SEALIFE.

Kathryn Angel, of Loch Lomond SEALIFE, said: "The standard of entries even higher than last time and this made our job as judges really tricky.

"We wish we could have had many more winners but after a tough process, agreed on the eventual winners who we thought were outstanding.”

Audrey Calder, from Loch Lomond Shores, added: "Firstly, a big thanks to those who took part and submitted such fantastic images.

"We have been truly inspired by this year’s entries. It’s really lovely to see so many people appreciate the natural beauty we have here at Loch Lomond Shores and share that with others through their talent."
