STRONG winds have forced the cancellation of ferry services between Kilcreggan and Gourock.

Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne says the first two sailings of the day - at 0641 and 0727 from Gourock and 0704 and 0750 from Kilcreggan, will not operate because of bad weather.

CalMac says a review will be carried out at around 8am with regard to later sailings on the route.

However, the company also says that two more return trips on the route later on Monday "are subject to tidal cancellation".

The sailings which may be affected by tide levels are the 1428 and 1518 sailings from Gourock, and the 1455 and 1555 departures from Kilcreggan.

Sailings on many CalMac routes on Monday - including those to Dunoon, Bute, Cumbrae and Arran - are also affected by strong winds.
