LUSS boxer Hannah Rankin is coming home to defend her two world titles next month - and tickets go on sale this week.

The former Hermitage Academy pupil announced details on Monday of her first defence of the World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organisation super-welterweight titles won in November.

The 31-year-old won the two belts by defeating Sweden's Maria Lindberg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Bonfire Night - becoming Scotland's first double women's world champion in the process

Rankin, who first won the IBO super-welterweight title in June 2019 when she beat American Sarah Curran at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley, only to lose it to Sweden's Patricia Berghult five months later, will defend her WBA and IBO belts not a million miles away from that Renfrewshire venue.

She will face Mexico's Alejandra Ayala at the Braehead Arena on Saturday, April 23.

The action will be broadcast live and free on Fightzone TV - but for those who want to watch the action in person on a historic night for Scottish boxing, tickets go on sale from Braehead Arena this Friday, March 4.

Rankin told FightPost.co.uk: "A homecoming for my first defence with two titles on the line, headlining the event and a chance to showcase my skills – what could be better!"
