THE final local action of the 2021-22 season for Helensburgh and Lomond’s curlers saw the presentation of Cardross Curling Club’s Cowie Cup trophy after the last match of the competition.
Skip Margaret Morrison had already led her team to overall victory in the competition before the final round of matches, which made the last result of the tournament academic – which was maybe just as well, as Margaret and her team-mates lost 11-0 at the hands of Rosemary Robertson’s rink.
The result didn’t take too much of the shine off a fine campaign for Margaret and her team-mates of Jim MacDonald (third), Esme McRae (second) and Robert Cornwell (lead), who were presented with the trophy by the club’s vice-president, Ewen Baird.
