A TALENTED traditional musician from Helensburgh is set for a return to her home turf – after a wait of more than two years.
Fiddler and composer Eilidh Steel and her fellow musician Mark Neal will take to the stage at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Friday, April 29.
The pair had been due to play in the town as part of a Scotland tour in the spring of 2020 – but just a few days before the tour’s start date, the first Covid lockdown struck and live music everywhere was put on hold.
Next Friday’s concert will take place in the main hall area of the former Clyde Street School, which during the day is used as a cafe.
Eilidh said: “This might be a less known concert venue, but it is a beautiful space and will have a lovely atmosphere.”
The pair will perform a captivating blend of traditional music and song from the rich musical heritage of Argyll and the west coast of Scotland alongside their own compositions and songs.
Tickets are available from eilidhandmark.com and in person from the Scandinavian Shop in Sinclair Street.
Admission is £12 for adults and free for under-5s and for anyone attending with the support of a personal assistant.
