THE Helensburgh Savoy musical theatre group returned to the stage for the first time in more than two years at the weekend - and its members are already making plans for their next show.
The group’s Mad About Musicals show played to packed houses at the Victoria Halls on Friday and Saturday - and judging by the reaction from on and off the stage, both the Savoy’s performers and those in the audience were delighted to see them back for the first time since Covid put all their plans on hold in 2020.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The show was a brilliant success with nearly full audiences on both nights, and we were so happy to be back on stage for the first time since the pandemic!
“We are very much looking forward to our next performance, Calamity Jane from November 2-5, 2022.
“Open rehearsals for the show will be starting from May 11, with auditions for principal roles held in late May.”
