A MANCHESTER United top signed by Scotland international and Old Trafford midfield mainstay Scott McTominay will be the star prize at a charity football tournament in Helensburgh in a few days' time.

The annual Christian Aid tournament for P7 pupils at all of Helensburgh and Lomond's primary schools has been a popular feature of the area's May events programme for many years - but, like most other local community events, has had to be put on hold for the last two years because of Covid.

But the tournament will make a welcome return at Hermitage Academy on Tuesday, May 17, running from 6.30-8.30pm - and family, friends and members of the public are being invited along to cheer the teams on.

There will be a tuck shop and a raffle at the tournament, as well as the prize draw for the Man United jersey signed by McTominay, whose grandparents live in the town.

The draw for the jersey will be made at the presentation of the tournament prizes at the end of the competition.
