HELENSBURGH’S church congregations are holding a united service this weekend as part of the town’s programme of Christian Aid Week events.

The service will be held at the United Reformed Church, 35 West Princes Street, at 7pm on Sunday, May 15.

All are invited for an evening of praise, prayer and reflection focusing on the work of Christian Aid in Zimbabwe.

The town's Christian Aid Week events programme began on Saturday morning with a Grand Fayre at Helensburgh Parish Church's halls complex, The Bridge.

It continues on Tuesday, May 17 when the area's annual school football tournament in aid of the charity returns to Hermitage Academy.
