BIG crowds are expected in Helensburgh this Saturday for the return of the Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games - but people are being warned that a number of road restrictions will be put in place near the venue on the day.

After two years away as a result of the pandemic, the 2022 Games will take place at their customary home – Helensburgh Rugby Club’s grounds at Ardencaple – on Saturday, June 4.

The Games get under way at 10am and run until 5pm featuring track and heavy athletics, Highland dancing, live entertainment, food and craft stalls and much more besides.

There will be no public parking at the Games venue itself, but a free shuttle bus will run throughout the day, picking up at Maitland Street opposite Helensburgh Central station and dropping off at Ardencaple.
