The first of two Willow Weaving Workshops was held at Geilston Garden in Cardross recently.

Under the expert guidance of local crafter Lorna Scaife, each of the workshop’s 10 participants constructed a willow obelisk and went happily off to their gardens to introduce it to their sweet peas, runner beans – or possibly some life enhancing fairy lights.

Despite a worrying forecast the weather held and they were all able to enjoy the lovely Geilston experience. The new Friends of Geilston gazebos were on hand to provide shelter if needed.

There will be another workshop on Wednesday, June 8 – check out the Friends of Geilston website for more details.

Visitors to the garden this Sunday, June 5, will also be able to make a donation to the Scotland’s Gardens Scheme at its annual charity event.
