HELENSBURGH residents who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis are being offered support on how to keep their homes warm while keeping a lid on fuel bills.

Local people are among those able to benefit from free advice courtesy of Home Energy Scotland, an organisation funded by the Scottish government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.

Representatives can contact people by phone and email or arrange a home visit to help someone work out the best option.

Budget is taken into account and staff can help find different grants and loans from various sources to make retrofitting a home more affordable.

Among the options open to homeowners is insulating their properties, with different forms available, and installing renewable energy systems for heating, electricity generation or hot water.

Options include air source and ground source heat pumps, solar panels or micro hydro schemes.
