RHU Amateurs’ preparations for the new league season stepped up a gear with a 4-1 home win over Clydebank Amateurs.
In glorious conditions at the DCF Park, the club’s Caledonian League squad secured a comfortable win over their visitors – who play in the Central Scottish AFL – with goals by Jones, McVey, Conroy and Dods.
Last Saturday’s match kicked off a busy schedule of pre-season friendly fixtures for the Rhu ‘Caley’ side, who are the road this Saturday, July 16, for an away match against Stranraer FC’s reserves.
Pre-season training continues at the DCF Park for the club’s Caledonian League, Greater Glasgow Premier League and newly-formed colts squad, the last of which will play in the Saturday morning Glasgow Colleges FA when the 2022-23 campaign kicks off.
None of the three leagues have yet confirmed details of their fixture lists for the forthcoming campaign, though Rhu’s ‘Caley’ squad do have three more pre-season ties lined up, with the next one after this weekend being away to Vale of Leven Juniors on Wednesday, July 20 (kick-off details TBC).
