PLANS have been revealed for a Helensburgh town centre building to be converted into a cycle hire facility.

Loch Lomond Leisure Ltd has applied for permission to convert the premises at 24 West Clyde Street into an office with ticket sales and cycle hire.

The firm already operates outdoor activities on and around Loch Lomond.

The building was previously home to The Journey fitness centre, which has now relocated to Colquhoun Square.

It's also just a few doors along West Clyde Street from the existing Helensburgh Cycles business.

A separate application has also been lodged for listed building consent to convert a shower room into a kitchen at the same West Clyde Street premises.

No design statement is yet available to view in Argyll and Bute Council’s planning portal, but a range of drawings can be seen, and comments submitted by the public.

To see the plans, visit the council’s planning portal at argyll-bute.gov.uk and use the reference number 22/01002/PP.

A decision is expected from the council by mid-September.
