HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised to support social enterprise Helensburgh Art Hub last weekend.

The Hub organised a "seaside stroll" from Helensburgh Pier to Kidston Park and back.

They set a goal of raising £1,000 to support the not-for-profit Hub and their art workshops in the community and for the community as well as orgaisations such as Jigsaw, Cornerstone, Jean’s Bothy, Welcome In and Males and Females Tales.

The total is sitting just under their £1,000 goal and they hope to make close the final gap.

Karlyn Marshall, managing director of Helensburgh Art Hub, said: "I'd really like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made our seaside stroll fundraiser such a success. We really do have a wonderful group of volunteers (If you'd like to get involved we always have room for more).

"Luckily the rain stayed off. You couldn't miss us. We were a vision in yellow, pink and blue - the Helensburgh Art Hub colours - and we had the chance to chat to lots of people along the way and tell them all about what we do.

"We have almost reached our target for this fundraiser and there is still time to donate to help us reach it. We are really keen to raise funds to enable us to start a membership programme so keep and eye our for more events to come."
