Popular sites in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are among those to be benefitting from a staffing boost this summer, courtesy of funding from the Scottish Government.

The NatureScot Better Places Green Recovery funding will see Friends of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs receive funding for a ranger, as will the RSPB Scotland reserve at Gartocharn.

The National Trust for Scotland has been given the green light to receive ranger funding for Ben Lomond, while the nearby Cashel Forest Trust is to benefit from two rangers.

The financial boost forms part of almost £1.5 million from the Scottish Government to support better visitor management and help safeguard the environment.

The NatureScot Better Places Green Recovery funding will go to 48 countryside, coast and island projects across Scotland, enabling an additional 94 rangers and 15 visitor operations staff to be employed around the country.
