Helensburgh Coastguard Rescue Team is urging people to think twice before leaping from piers, cliffs, and rocks into the water.
Known as tombstoning, jumping from such structures can be very dangerous, with the water depth changing dramatically with the tide.
Sections of water which are deep at lunchtime may be a shallow puddle by dinner time.
People are also warned to consider what may be lurking underneath the surface, and the shock they may get from cold water.
Those who spot anyone in difficulty at the coast are reminded to dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
For incidents on inland waterways, call 999 and ask for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and police.
