Hermitage Park will be the venue for two free workshops on the themes of horticulture and floristry this month.

The workshops will take place in the Community Room of the new Pavilion and will be instructive and interactive and of a “make and take” nature – you will have something nice to take home at the end. The first two workshops are;

September 14, 7pm to 8.30pm – Learn how to make and take small Tussie Mussie posies - garden flowers and herbs arranged in small posies.  This class will showcase a range of sustainable floristry techniques.

September 21, 7pm to 8.30pm – Learn how to, and the best times to, save your seeds, and make and take a selection of seeds in origami seed packets for growing in your garden next year. This class will highlight cost effective gardening practices.

The workshops will be delivered by Angela Smith who will bring her experience of community gardening, table-top gardening and floristry. Workshops will be free and suitable for adults.

Places are limited and must be booked – please email hermitage parkmanager@argyll-bute.gov.uk  if you are interested in coming along.

These workshops are offered by Argyll and Bute Council as part of the overall improvements to the park, with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
