Helensburgh's MSP says she plans to champion hydro-electric power as an energy source after paying a visit to a power station on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Jackie Baillie was invited to see round the Loch Sloy facility north of Tarbet by SSE Renewables, which runs the facility.
Ms Baillie said: “Hydro power is a fantastic resource in a country like Scotland where there is not generally a shortage of water due to the rainfall we experience.
“The staff are clearly passionate about their jobs and who wouldn’t be with such stunning views to enjoy every day!
“I want to thank those at SSE Renewables for making this visit possible.
“I will use the knowledge I gained on the day to champion hydro as a sustainable energy source. It is vitally important that the Scottish Government invests in the likes of hydro power in order to increase both supply and opportunities for storage, therefore reducing prices as fuel bills are rising during the current cost of living crisis.”
