POLICE have issued a warning after a heavy piece of agricultural equipment was stolen from a property in Helensburgh.
Officers say an electric powered hydraulic log splitter and saw horse were taken from a garden in the town.
The incident happened some time between Friday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 11.
Police are now warning farmers and owners of agricultural equipment in the area to be on their guard against potential thefts.
In a statement posted via the Rural Watch Scotland alert service, a spokesperson for the Argyll and West Dunbartonshire police division said: "This is a heavy (50+ kg) item and would not be easily carried by one person and would have needed transport."
Anyone with information about the theft, or who saw someone acting suspiciously with the item, is being asked to call Police Scotland on 101.
In an emergency, always dial 999.
