With the onset of darker nights and a downturn in the weather, budding curlers are being invited to get in touch with Druids as the organisation looks to the winter months.
The organisation comprises women, mainly from Helensburgh, Rhu, Cardross and Dumbarton, who play regularly on Wednesdays at 12.30pm.
The season started with the opening bonspiel, which acted as a warm-up for many of the players.
Four ends were played and then everyone moved to different opponents for the rest of the game.
Scores were totted up and with only three in their team, Kathleen Cornwell, Esme MacRae and Gill Rogers were the winners.
The players all celebrated their return to playing with afternoon tea at Greenacres.
A spokesperson said: “It is a good way to make new friends or catch up after the summer break.
As with every club, there are retirals and removals and each season, and the club likes to welcome new players.”
If you are a beginner don’t even think of Eve Muirhead
We have some very good players , and although competitive not quite at Olympic level!
Coaching can be provided at Greenacres by a club member , and travel is arranged by car for each game.
Anyone interested in joining or even finding out a bit more should call Margaret Morrison on 01436 676414.
