WORKS of art by members of Helensburgh’s community mental health hub have gone on display at the town’s library.

The pieces were all created by members of the art group at Jean’s Bothy, in association with the Helensburgh Art Hub and its founder and owner, Karlyn Marshall.

The work is now on display at the library for all members of the public to enjoy, free of charge, until the end of the year.

Katrina Sayer, development manager for Helensburgh services with ENABLE Scotland, which runs Jean’s Bothy, said: “Our members have been working with Karlyn, Helensburgh Art Hub for a few years now and the sessions are always filled with a huge amount of creativity, from members who have maybe not picked up a paint brush since school!

“We have so many talented individuals it felt right that the wider community had a chance to see what is possible without attending any official courses or training.

“The benefits to our mental health and wellbeing through creative sessions such as painting and drawing has been proven to have a positive impact.

“An exhibition has given those members involved a sense of achievement and pride in seeing their pieces of art on display.”

The exhibition is on show during the library’s normal opening hours - 9.30am to 4.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, 9.30am-6.30pm on Thursday, and 9.30am-1pm on Friday and Saturday.
