IT was celebration time for Helensburgh Curling Club recently, as the organisation marked its 175th anniversary in style.
The club held a bonspiel at Greenacres Ice Rink, in which 24 members took part, playing two short games after being piped onto the ice.
Between the two games the teams stopped, stacked their brooms and had a nip of whisky to toast the health of the club before resuming play. The winners were Robert Cornwell, George Kerr, Alan Armstrong and Rodger Scullion, who were presented with commemorative trophies.
As Helensburgh Curling Club now journeys towards its 200th anniversary, it continues to welcome new members.
