Colquhoun Square was full of smiles and Christmas spirit for its final market of 2022 earlier this month.

The last Market in the Square of 2022 was held on December 10, with a range of gifts, home baking, and other items on offer.

Stallholders at the event included Erincroft Bakery, Lunar Melts, Angels Dare Cocktails, Ann Davidson Butcher, and Linda Newman Ceramics.

Organisations such as the RSPB and RNLI also had stalls at the market.

Like many events, the market has had to grapple with the difficulties posed by the cost-of-living crisis this year.

Its organisers, SHS Events, have thanked residents for their support.

Lauren Fairfull of SHS Events said: “It’s been a tough year this year for market vendors and organisers due to the rising costs of living that are affecting everyone.

“As always we appreciate the support the local community have always shown the market, year in and year out the local town shows up.

“We’re thankful to be working closely and building relationships with other local groups including the Helensburgh Light Switch-on committee, Helensburgh Winterfest and Helensburgh Community Council.

“We look forward to a prosperous 2023 for all.”

The Market in the Square is held on the second and last Saturday of the month and will return to the town in February 2023.
