A CHAT and a cuppa were the order of the day at Visiting Friends’ first coffee morning of the year.
The recent event took place in Helensburgh Community Hub and saw Visiting Friends volunteers and their friends come together, with people travelling from around the peninsula to take part.
Reflecting on the morning, Jayne Burnett, of Visiting Friends, told the Advertiser: "It was wonderful to hear the buzz of happy conversation and so much laughter.
“We were reminded recently about the power of befriending when a new client told us that she felt she could tell her befriender things she couldn’t share with her longer standing friends - befriending really does change lives.”
Looking ahead, the organisation is planning for an Easter coffee afternoon on Tuesday, April 4 from 1-3pm at the Hub.
Anyone who is considering volunteering is very welcome to come along and have a cuppa and meet the friends.
In the meantime, Visiting Friends will be attending the community clubs membership event at Hermitage Academy on Saturday, March 4 from 1-3pm if anyone wants to find out more about volunteering.
Alternatively, they can call 01436 269336 and ask to speak to Jayne or Debbie.
