THE life and death of Captain James Cook will be put in the spotlight at Cove Burgh Hall next week.
Steve Ragnall is the final guest speaker in Cove and Kilcreggan Literary Society’s 2022-23 winter programme.
His talk, Better Conceiv’d than Describ’d, is on Monday, March 6 at 8pm.
Famous for his three voyages between 1768 and 1779 in the Pacific Ocean and to New Zealand and Australia, Cook was killed by villagers at Kealeakekua Bay in Hawaii but is remembered with monuments and memorials in the UK and around the world.
As with all CKLS events, Monday’s talk will be followed by a prize draw, tea and biscuits and the chance to socialise.
The society’s season concludes with its AGM and members’ quiz on Monday, March 20.
