A SELFLESS support worker at a Helensburgh vet clinic has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Laura Cameron, of Lomond Veterinary Clinic, is in the running for the Support Staff of the Year prize in the Petplan Veterinary Awards 2023.

Now in its 24th year, more than 30,000 nominations have been received in 2023, submitted by both colleagues and clients in recognition of nominees’ commitment and dedication to going above and beyond when it comes to the health of the nation’s pets.

Commenting on her nomination, Laura said: “I’m beyond honoured to be nominated, let alone find myself a finalist for the Petplan Awards.

“I’m very grateful for all of our lovely clients who took the time to consider me and to vote for us at Lomond Vets.

“It’s a reflection of not just myself, but us as a team, because I would not be in this position without my amazing colleagues. Thank you so much to everyone, I am overwhelmed by your support.”

Bella von Mesterhazey, sales and marketing director at Petplan added: “This year has been tougher than ever for our judges, as they work through an incredible selection of finalist nominations. We’re delighted that in its 24th year, such a huge number of people are keen to share their fantastic experiences of colleagues and professionals.

“We’re incredibly excited to come together with the finalists in Manchester this year to thank them for their fantastic efforts, as well as celebrating a shared passion for the wellbeing of our pets.”

The awards ceremony will take place on March 23 at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, and will be hosted by actress and comedian Sally Phillips.
