A BUSY season has kicked off for Helensburgh Football Club’s youth sides, as they look to an enjoyable campaign ahead.
The 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2012 and 2011 sides are among those taking part in the Dumbarton Development Football League, which runs matches from March until the end of November.

The league has more than 100 teams and provides football for children from the age of seven up to the age of 16, starting with fun 4s and seven-a-side, and progressing to 11-a-side competitive football as part of the new Scottish Youth Football Association Player Pathway.

Helensburgh’s 2011 team will play nine-a-side until August, when it will begin 11-a-side matches.
The league covers the Dunbartonshire area including Dumbarton, Helensburgh, Alexandria and Clydebank, with more than 1,500 children participating each weekend.
