A NEW free course will start next week to help Helensburgh residents learn more about money.
UHI Argyll is teaming up with Argyll and Bute Council to run the 12-week "positive about money" course every Tuesday night.
The university says the online virtual classes - starting on Tuesday, April 11 at 6pm - will cover a variety of subjects, including the costs involved in borrowing money; considering insurance and long-term financial planning; looking at different ways of buying goods and how to compare different deals.
A spokesperson said; "We can also help with some of the equipment you need to take part.
"Do you find budgeting difficult? Are credit card interest rates a complete mystery? We’ve designed our sessions to be useful, practical and fun so that you will get as much benefit as possible from the learning.
"We will help you to prepare to deal with bill, budgeting and every day financial encounters."
The course is funded through the UK Government Multiply Adult Numeracy programme.
