MEMBERS of a veterans' charity based near Helensburgh got a helping hand from the Royal Navy at their Easter celebration this week.

There was a party atmosphere at the Garelochhead Station Trust's Easter brunch event at Centre 81 in the village on Tuesday.

Trustees Marion and David ran a raffle while Trust members enjoyed food cooked by the kitchen 'A-Team'.

Members attended in Easter bonnets and the room was decorated with seasonal décor as banners were hung on the walls and tables had chicks, eggs, gnomes and fresh daffodils placed on them.

Royal Navy personnel attended to help volunteers, trustees and staff serve up the brunch.

Trustee Tracey Smith said: "[It was] a wonderful morning with a party atmosphere, the hall was well decorated, and the Easter cards given to members were beautiful.

“The raffle and prizes were fantastic, the food was as delicious as always and it was so nice to have the young Royal Navy helping out.

“As members we appreciate so much what the trust and the volunteers do, they always go above and beyond behind the scenes to make our occasions special."

Members had a great time at the brunch and left positive feedback to the organisers.
