A 64-year-old woman and her dog have died in a fatal crash on the A82 between Luss and Inverbeg.

Police are appealing for information over the incident, which involved a single-decker coach and a black Land Rover Discovery on Monday, April 17.

The crash happened at about 1.50pm on the northbound carriageway.

The driver of the car and her pet were pronounced dead at the scene. A 64-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for almost eight hours to allow an investigation to start, said Police Scotland.

Sergeant Brian Simpson, from the road policing unit in Dumbarton, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died in this incident.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around that time and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
