The owner of Helensburgh’s Masala Twist is glad the team's hard work has paid off with wins at the Scottish Curry Awards.

Manager Subu is glad the team’s hard work was recognised after winning the ‘Voters' Best Choice Restaurant of the Year' accolade for the south-west of Scotland and the whole of the country.

The prizes have given the team confidence and morale as they prepare for the Spice Awards and to compete with restaurants throughout the rest of the UK for the British Curry Awards.

Subu said: “It’s a good feeling! When you get an award like this it’s hard work paid off.

“The ceremony was fantastic. A lot of people came, and they all enjoyed it whether they won or not.

“This has given us a real boost up.

“We have the Spice Awards coming up so we’re going to apply for that and the British Curry Awards as well.”

More than 400 people attended the ceremony on Tuesday, May 5 at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.

The awards celebrate the best of Scotland’s curry restaurants and chefs and the diversity of the country’s curry culture.

A spokesperson for the awards said: “It has been an unforgettable night, filled with incredible food, vibrant energy, and passionate conversations.

“We have celebrated the finest in the Scottish curry scene, recognising the creativity, innovation, and exceptional service that have become synonymous with this beloved cuisine.

“The curry industry is a vital part of our culture, and these awards recognised the exceptional talents of the individuals and businesses that make it so special.

“Congratulations to all the winners and nominees and thank you to everyone who participated and supported this event.”
