A SECOND manhunt has been launched for a drunken and dangerous driver who failed to show up for a court hearing.

Gregory Crossan had previously pleaded guilty to dangerous driving whilst intoxicated on the A82 at Inveruglas by repeatedly swerving between lanes, entering the opposing carriageway including at blind bends in the road, forcing other cars to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

During the incident on August 31 last year, the 49-year-old also admitted to braking harshly on the main road and making contact with both the nearside and offside verges.

He also pleaded guilty to a charge of being unfit to drive the car through the influence of drink and drugs.

Both of the offences to which Crossan, of Netherhill Way, Paisley, pleaded guilty were committed whilst on bail granted by Oban Sheriff Court just two weeks prior, on August 17.

He pleaded not guilty to two separate charges of being in possession of a quantity of diarmorphine and cocaine on the same day and location.

Helensburgh Advertiser:

The Advertiser previously told how Sheriff William Gallacher raised concerns to Crossan's lawyer over the accused's lack of attendance at court hearings.

At Dumbarton Sheriff Court on May 23, Sheriff Robert Vaughan ordered a warrant for Crossan's arrest, stating it was the third time he had failed to turn up to a court hearing.
