An “outstanding” and eclectic display of summer themed art will open in Cove this weekend.

Glaswegian visual artist Louise Hopkins’ latest exhibition will be shown for free in Cove Park from Friday, June 30 to Friday, September 15.

Opening during the summer equinox and closing as autumn begins, the display is comprised of prints, paintings, and performance pieces that reflect the season and is a product of Louise’s time at the centre.

A Cove Park spokesperson said: “Double Flower is an outstanding new body of work by the Glasgow-based visual artist Louise Hopkins.

“Commissioned by Cove Park, the prints, paintings, and performance were developed through a series of site visits and research residencies which allowed Louise to work in Cove Park’s studios and directly in the landscape overlooking Loch Long.

“Installed at the time of the summer equinox, Double Flower will end as the season changes in September.”

Artist, writer and former Cove Park resident Sarah Tripp has written a piece in response to Louise’s exhibition that will be given to visitors on a limited-edition postcard.

Double Flower is presented in the centre’s Jacobs Building and throughout the communal spaces used by residents and visitors.

The exhibition can be accessed during the centre’s Open Fridays between 1pm and 5pm every Friday between June 30 and September 15.

Those who wish to arrange an alternate viewing can do so by emailing the centre’s programmes and communications producer Alex Marrs via alex@covepark.org.

Visitors can also explore the 50-acre grounds, learn about Cove Park's residency and engagement programmes, and meet the team.

Support for Double Flower comes from The Hope Scott Trust, Outset Contemporary Art Fund, and the Young Presidents Organisation.
