A MIX of weather couldn't dampen spirits as the weekend saw one of the most anticipated events on Loch Lomond every summer.
The Luss Highland Games welcomed all ages to the village on Saturday, July 1 and included track races, Highland dancing, a tug-o-war, traditional Scottish backhold wrestling, open and local piping competitions and the heavy events, for both children and adults.
Organisers were thrilled with how the day went and in Facebook post after the celebrations said: "We would like to thank everyone who attended yesterday our field was back to being in fantastic shape too and to all the competitors without yous, we would have no Games.
"It was a marvellous day even though it was a bit breezy and our set up day on Friday was just drizzly all day.
"We hope to see you all again next year on Saturday, July 6, 2024."
Strathardle Tug O War won the five-man competition and paid tribute to Danny Murison, a "character of the game" missed by all who knew him.
The team shared their own thoughts on Facebook to the friend and mentor.
They wrote: "As many of you will be aware Danny died recently and I think we can all agree we will never see his like again.
"The whole teams thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.
"We travelled to Luss - as I have said on many occasions, one of our favourite venues.
"In the end Strathardle prevailed but the biggest winner of the day was sportsmanship by the Moffat tug o war team.
"Our thanks to the Luss committee, sponsors and all the friends we have made at this venue for running such a wonderful event.
"We at Strathardle would like to finish this post by dedicating the win to our old coach Danny Murison, we will never forget all you have done for our team and the sport we love."
