The body of a man has been recovered from the shoreline near Helensburgh, said police.
Although there has been no formal identification, the family of George Winters have been informed.
Mr Winters went missing from the Dalry area in Ayrshire on Sunday, July 2.
Police later issued an appeal for information from people in Greenock, where Mr Winters was last seen.
The body was found just before 12pm on Saturday, July 8.
A Police Scotland statement said: "There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
UPDATE Monday 2.05pm: Police Scotland later clarified that the body was recovered near Shore Road in Cove, not Helensburgh.
