A FUND-RAISING in Rosneath this weekend will help to support a charity’s vital work in war-torn Ukraine.
The event at St Modan's Church is to benefit ReactAid, a charity set up by Rosneath man Ewen Cameron last year.
So far the charity has helped thousands of people on the ground in Ukraine including supporting evacuation efforts and getting people to the Polish border safely.
Ewan, who now lives in Huddersfield, set up his operation soon after the Russian invasion in early 2022.
It initially concentrated on transporting goods and medical supplies to the war-torn country, but soon grew into a wider humanitarian operation.
Ewan, who underwent training to become a certified medic, handling pre-hospital care, and set up air evacuations to the EU and UK after forming links with pilots in Poland, spoke to the Advertiser earlier this year about ReactAid's first 12 months in operation.
The fundraiser on Saturday August 5 between midday and 2pm will include a bring and buy sale, tombola, craft stalls, café and much more.
