A MOTORCYCLIST was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash near Cardross.

The 21-year-old driver of the motorbike was involved in the collision with a car on the A814 at Ardoch, between Cardross and Dumbarton, at around 6.35pm on Monday evening, September 18.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment of serious injuries.

His condition remains unknown at this time.

The 38-year-old woman, the driver of the car,  was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital as a precaution.

Police Scotland have confirmed that enquiries are still ongoing after the road was closed for around eight hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.35pm on Monday, September 18, we were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the A814 near Ardoch.

"Emergency services attended and a 21-year-old man, the driver of the motorcycle, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.

"A 38-year-old woman, the driver of the car, was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, as a precaution.

"The road was closed and reopened around 2.30am.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
