The details of Helensburgh’s annual service of remembrance for 2023 have been announced by the Helensburgh Community Council.

The service will take place in the Hermitage Park Memorial Garden on Sunday, November 12, with the traditional two minutes of silence at 11am at the heart of the commemoration.

People are asked to arrive between 10.20am and 10.40am.

Following the silence, wreaths will be laid at the park’s war memorial and music will be provided by the West of Scotland Military Wives Choir.

Veterans will participate in a short march that will leave from the roadway above the Park Pavilion at 10.30am and will head to the ceremony.

All veterans wishing to join the procession are welcome, and are asked to join the assembly at 10.15am.

Other invited community groups are also asked to meet at the same point at 10.15am.

In the event of persistent rain, the service will be held in the nearby Victoria Halls.
